What is V3?
Index Basic-D V3, Everest V3, 4X4 PRO V3
The latest model of Index embossers are all named V3. The first V3 embosser was introduced in 2002. All models of Index V3 embossers are using the same main board and firmware.
Embosser V3 characterictics:
- USB Port
- Network Port
- Serial number above 30000
Index embossers V2
The V2 embossers were produced 1995-2004, characteristics:
- Parallel port, uni-directional (vertical)
- Serial port (vertical)

The V1 category is a summary of embossers produced during the early days of Index Braille.
