Children at Buzau Special High School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children 'Liceul Special pentru Deficienți de Vedere Buzău' in Buzau, Romania, were excited to open their new Index Everest-D V5.
Thanks to the Marathon of Light campaign ’Tha Maratonul Luminii’ organized by European Center for Social and Economic Integration, the children could get the new braille printer.
According to Lavinia Udrea, the Project Coordinator, the campaign received a tremendeous support from the community.
”People gave donation for the marathon run of 100 km for 12 hours straight on a treadmill in order to raise fund for the new braille printer for the school,” Ms Udrea said.
Founded in 1936, Buzau Special High School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children has 160 students integrated into all levels of school education (kindergarten, middle school and high school).
Ms Udrea mentioned that the new Everest-D V5 would be used for printing manual and subjects of exams at the school.
