The history of the Basic-D Braille embosser

In 1988 Basic Blue Bar was developed as a part of Index first generation of modern braille embossers. 

In 1995 Basic V2 was introduced. Its appearance was much like the Basic model is today.

Basic-D V3 was released in 2002, it included also USB and network ports. 

Basic-D V4 introduced in 2011, it was the first black and white designed Basic. 

Basic-D V5 was introduced in 2016. The V5 includes WiFi/Bluetooth, USB Host (USB memory stick) connection, synthetic speech feedback, an optimized user interface and the BrailleApp web interface.
