Firmware highlights

These features are available on Basic-D, Everest-D, BrailleBox and FanFold-D V5 when equipped with latest firmware. 

Several new important features for the Braille App.
  • User account login, user and admin/service with different access levels. 
  • Label printing is now supported.
  • User defined Liblouis tables can be used locally. The Liblouis table is saved on the USB memory connected to the printer.
  • Editing of Wired network setting is included
  • Liblouis meta information including source file name, language, grade, 6/8 dots etc. 
  • New editing, printing and preview functionality
    • Save and print (.ipf Index Print Files)
    • Support for Duxbury file (.dxb) open/edit/print is implemented.
    • Insert Page break
    • Print range, from page to page
    • Braille files (.brl) is supported
    • Floating page graphics can be pre-viewed 
Improvements to the V5 embosser
  • Chinese word segmentation is added
  • Liblouis 3.7.0 is included
  • Edit Bluetooth from the control panel
  • Bluetooth is off by default
  • Edit Bluetooth settings from control panel

Index believe in the possibility to improve braille literacy for the blind. This is why we are doing this.
