  • Support for hammer batch 1808/1809

New Functionality and Improvements

  • Support for A4 paper in BrailleBox V5. With this beta firmware update, the BrailleBox V5 now supports fast paper loading for A4 together with the previously available: A3, Tabloid (11"x17"), 11.5"x11" and B4.
    • Please note that A4 must be loaded as landscape in the braille tray of the BrailleBox.
  • Support for calibration of braill cell alignment by distributors via the menu of the embosser. Distributors can now easily calibrate alignment problems using the "wizard for delay time for solenoid" and the "wizard for step length for embossing head".
  • Support for linear actuator (door) calibration on BrailleBox V5. Some BrailleBox V5 units have had problems when closing the door, resulting in the door stopping early. One of the main causes of this problem was the maximum allowed current draw for the linear actuator was set too low. The new calibration routine will enable the correct current draw value to be set, reducing the risk for door problems.
    • To activate the calibration wizard please press and hold the door button until you hear a single beep. The wizard will then talk you through the process of calibrating the linear actuator (door).
  • Support for Liblouis release 3.3.0. Will allow distributors to use the new Liblouis format.
  • Added tactile view demofiles. The demo files can be found under the print menu --> print demo files.
  • Better handling of print processor programming when changing PCB cards. Replacing the PCB (Arm7 slave processor) in an embosser with a newer PCB (m4 slave processor), will now automatically reprogram the slave processor with the correct m4-firmware. Previously a special command file had to be sent to the embosser to initiate the programming of the m4-processor.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug that caused certain dots to disappear or be weak.
  • Fiixed bug that could cause available wifi networks to not be detected if the SD-card in the embosser was replaced.
