How to setup a V5 embosser for idB-X

Setup the V5 embosser for idB:

Set up the embosser for the desired print settings:

- on the control panel of the braille embosser follow as specified below to select each of your settings.
  • Paper size: MENU/Braille layout/ edit active layout 1-9 and press OK. Follow the standard wizard and select your paper size. 
  • Print type: MENU/ braille layout/ edit active layout 1-9 and press OK. Follow the standard wizard and select your print type. (For example set; duplexing and single or double line spacing). 
  • Braille layout: MENU/ braille layout/ edit active layout 1-9 and press OK. Follow the standard wizard and select the different layout attributes; 
    • characters per line: reduce for space for binding margins
    • lines per page: reduce for space for a top and/or bottom margin
    • top margin: set if desired. A top margin may only be selected if the selected number of lines per page are less than the maximum lines allowed. The bottom margin is supplied with even less number of lines per page. 
    • binding margin: set if desired. A binding margin may only be selected as long as the characters per line is less than the maximum number allowed. 
  • Braille translation: MENU/ braille layout/ edit active layout 1-9 and press OK. Follow the standard wizard and select your braille translation language, grade and version. 
    • Grade 0 = computer braille [computer notation]
    • Grade 1 = literary braille [alphabet and some punctuation]
    • Grade 2 = contracted braille [abbreviations and contractions]
Press OK to save and complete the standard wizard. 

The V5 embosser is now setup to translate your standard files in your selected braille language and in your desired page layout settings.
