Fine tuning of braille cells-X

The fine tuning of braille cell parameters are defined by Index factory and are as default correct. If the braille is not correct on a printer it can be the consequence of new firmware, faulty adjustment, hammer batch etc. It can be adjusted in "protected service". This functions are designed to be used by Index distributors, who can get the pin code used for accessing the "protected service" menu from support@indexbraille.com.
Picture A,B and C shows typical issues which may be solved with the fine tuning.

  • Step length for embossing head. If this value is not correct, a few braille dots will not be correctly aligned or the distance between the braille cells are is not correct in some positions. The step length value has to be adjusted for the selected braille dot size (2.2, 2.5, 3.2 mm); Picture A= To long distance between braille cells; Picture B= Not correct alignment in some braille cells.
  • Menu/ protected service/ fine tuning of braille cell/ step length for embossing head/ Select typical braille cell size/ 9 test pages are printed, select best option, complete and save the wizard.

  • Delay time for solenoids. If this value is not correct all braille cells will not be aligned. This value has to be adjusted for the used speed (low/medium/high). Picture C=All braille cells are not good aligned.
