International Women's Day 2017->

Celebrated on 8 March, the International Women's Day encourages us to stand up for the empowerment of all women and girls and work towards a more gender inclusive world. 

Close to two-thirds of the world's blind are women, according to the estimation from the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB).

The World Blind Union (WBU) encourages all of us to prioritize the rights of the blind and partially sighted women and to work towards changing the negative attitudes and discrimination that blind women face. Blind women must have full access to essential information and services, and employment opportunities, so that they can participate in all aspects of life as everybody else does.
