Assistive Technology devices and software have traditionally been developed and marketed with specific individuals or populations in mind, e.g. those with low vision, blindness, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, etc. Current trends and advancements in technology are pushing for more universally designed products—allowing for us as service providers to “think outside the box” when finding the best product to meet specific needs. This session will focus on the universal design features and benefits of the iPad, and provide hands on demonstration of new iPad apps that are changing the field of Access Technology.
